Before You Visit — Essential Info

Permit Process

Register online, submit trip details at least 72 hours in advance for restricted zones. Permits are issued within 24 hours for verified tourists.

Medical Facilities

Remote hill tracts have limited medical facilities. Carry a first aid kit, altitude medication, and ensure travel insurance covers emergency evacuation.

Connectivity

Mobile signal is weak beyond Ruma and Thanchi. Download offline maps. Inform someone at base of your planned route and return time.

Weather

Monsoon (June–September) makes hill tracks dangerous and many waterfalls flood. Best travel windows are October–April for hills, year-round for Cox's Bazar.
